Discount broker Charles Schwab Corp. plans to acquire Mayer & Schweitzer Inc. of Jersey City, N.J., for about $28 million in cash. The New Jersey firm is a market maker in over-the-counter securities. . . . Burbank-based Walt Disney Co. filed federal suits against 222 retailers and distributors in California and Oregon for alleged piracy of Disney characters on apparel and other merchandise. . . . Tokos Medical Corp. of Santa Ana and T2 Medical Inc. of Atlanta agreed to form a joint venture to specialize in home-care services for women, Women’s Homecare Inc.
