Two people were killed and three others were seriously injured when a pickup truck failed to obey a stop sign and slammed into a convertible in Lancaster, the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department reported Monday.
Sgt. Gary Olson identified the dead as Jose Marin, 20, of Lancaster and Albert Hagstrom, 45, of Rosamond. They were passengers in separate vehicles and were ejected during the accident, Olson said.
Injured in the Sunday evening accident, which occurred at Avenue G and 60th Street West, were Hagstrom’s wife, Frances, who was driving a 1988 convertible; Homero Perez, 20, of Lancaster, driver of the truck that failed to stop, and Jesus Perez, 23, also of Lancaster, a truck passenger.
Investigators were waiting for the results of alcohol and drug tests before deciding whether criminal charges are warranted, Olson said.
