Sharon Abbott has been appointed vice president, general counsel and secretary for UniCare Financial Corp., Irvine. She joined the company from the Orange County office of the Gibson Dunn & Crutcher law firm, where she has practiced for eight years in the corporate department. UniCare, through its subsidiary, UniCare Insurance Co., underwrites workers’ compensation insurance in California.
