Pasadena : Brush Clearance Rules
Extreme fire hazards in the city created by the drought prompted the City Council Tuesday to approve stricter brush clearance rules proposed by Fire Chief Kaya Pekerol.
The city attorney will devise an ordinance requiring property owners to remove dead trees from their lots, clear their roofs of flammable debris, keep plants under a certain height and keep a space clear around homes and streets.
Hillside residents who violate the rules could be fined up to $359 if they don’t clear their lots within 30 days of being cited.
