The body of David Higgins, 34, who drowned during the swimming portion of a triathlon at Charlotte, N.C., was recovered, officials said. He was among about 700 people taking part in the Latta Plantation Park Triathlon.
The triathlon consisted of a 1.5-kilometer swim, a 40-kilometer bike race and a 10-kilometer run.
