EL RIO : 19-Year-Old Man Stabbed at Party

A 19-year-old El Rio man was hospitalized in serious condition after being stabbed in the chest during a fight at a party Sunday, authorities said.
Luis Valenzuela was attending a party in the 2900 block of Vineyard Avenue in El Rio when he got into an argument with five other party-goers at 12:45 a.m., said Ventura County Sheriff’s Lt. Gary Markley. Valenzuela was stabbed once in the chest during the ensuing fight.
A relative drove Valenzuela to St. John’s Regional Medical Center in Oxnard, where he underwent surgery early Sunday morning.
Markley said there was no indication that the stabbing was gang-related. No arrests have been made, he said.
