COUNTYWIDE : County Fair Parade Sign-Ups Near 100

Nearly 100 participants have signed up for the 1991 Ventura County Fair Parade so far, including seven high school bands and entries in more than 25 categories, according to parade Chairman Bob Cornett.
Entry forms are available at the fairgrounds administration office, 10 West Harbor Blvd., Ventura. They must be postmarked no later than July 26, Cornett said.
The 1.6-mile parade route begins at 10 a.m. Aug. 17 on Main Street near Catalina Drive. The parade will move west on Main Street to the San Buenaventura Mission, Cornett said.
This year’s theme for the parade and the fair is “A Seaside Fantasy” The fair opens Aug.14 and runs through Aug. 25, Cornett said.
