CIF BREAK: Whether to pursue seceding from the California Interscholastic Federation will be decided by county high school district superintendents at an Aug. 20 meeting (C1). . . . The Saddleback Valley Unified School District’s Peter Hartman is leading a move of the county’s 72 high schools to form an Orange County section, but major hurdles are expected to be financing and equity of competition among smaller private schools. “My understanding,” he said, “is all the public schools are saying go.”
