MAN BITES TOWN

With long weekend holidays at the end of May (Memorial Day) and the beginning of July (the 4th) I don’t think what Harry Shearer (“Holiday-of-the-Month,” June 23) needs is a June day off with pay--what he wants is a real holiday. He wants a combination of Columbus Day and Halloween? Why not throw in St. Patrick’s Day and Mardi Gras--then we’d already have it! What does Shearer think those 360,000 lesbians, gay men, their families and friends were doing in West Hollywood on June 23? If you’d like a celebration that includes everything from cowgirls to Catholics, come on out and join us, Harry--and bring the wife and kids.
