Selleck Gets Apology: Tom Selleck’s $20-million lawsuit against the Globe has been settled and the supermarket tabloid has agreed to publish a “clarification” and apology, saying it “did not intend to express or imply that Selleck is or ever was a homosexual.” There was no word on whether the settlement involved any money. Selleck, 46, filed suit July 3 in Los Angeles Superior Court, alleging that an article in the Globe’s July 2 edition created the impression that he was a homosexual. The story dealt with posters plastered around New York City, allegedly by an underground gay group committed to forcing gay celebrities “out of the closet.”
