FOND MEMORIES

G. K. Oswald’s article about John R. Tunis (June 30) brought back fond memories of my high school days.
I and several buddies read all the Tunis books we could get our hands on. The “Kid from Tomkinsville,” “The Iron Duke,” and the other stories were riveting to us 15-year-olds, and probably had something to do with our views toward the world, though I hadn’t thought about it for several decades until Oswald’s article.
