Iwerks Entertainment, a Burbank firm that designs advanced theater systems, said it has been awarded a $3.5-million contract to provide an automated, high-resolution, giant-screen theater system for the Venezuela Pavilion at Expo ’92 in Seville, Spain. Iwerks said it will also produce a 14-minute film for the theater exhibit.
Iwerks previously agreed to provide theater systems for the Expo’s Spanish National Pavilion and Basque Pavilion.
The Venezuela Pavilion project is being funded by the Venezuelan government and private industry, Iwerks said. When the Expo closes in October, 1992, the theater will be shipped to Venezuela, where it will be used as a national showcase.
