More than 3,000 homes lost electrical power Wednesday night when rats gnawed through underground supply cables, officials said.
Steve Hansen, Southern California Edison spokesman, said the first reports of a power outage came in about 10:15 p.m. Wednesday in an area bounded by Victoria Street to the south, Adams Avenue to the north, Fairview Road to the east and Placentia Avenue to the west.
Service was restored to most customers by 10:39, but about 500 others were without electricity until 9:03 a.m. Thursday.
