The Atlanta Braves’ David Justice, sidelined for seven weeks because of back injury, went one for three with a home run as he began a four-game rehabilitation stint with Macon of the Class-A South Atlantic League. . . . The Braves traded pitcher Dan Petry, 32, to the Boston Red Sox for a minor league player to be determined. Petry had no decisions and a 5.55 ERA in 10 games with the Braves. The Braves also called up relief pitcher Mark Wohlers from their triple-A Richmond, Va., team.
The New York Mets put outfielder Vince Coleman on the 15-day disabled list for the second time this season and recalled outfielder Chuck Carr from their triple-A Tidewater team.
Coleman reinjured the left hamstring that caused him to go on the disabled list for a 36-game stretch beginning June 15. Carr, a switch-hitter, was batting .197 in 63 games at Tidewater.
