Berganio, Voges Trail by 7 in U.S. Amateur

Dave Berganio of Sylmar fired a two-over-par 72 Tuesday in the first round of stroke play in the U.S. Amateur golf tournament at Cleveland Golf and Country Club in Ooltewah, Tenn.
Mitch Voges of Simi Valley also shot a 72. Berganio and Voges are seven strokes behind first-round leader Franklin Langham of Thomson, Ga., who shot 33-32--65.
