Booth Takes Lead in PGA Junior

PALM BEACH GARDENS, Fla. — A birdie on the final hole helped Kellee Booth of Coto de Caza take a two-stroke lead Wednesday in the girls’ division of the PGA Junior Championship.
Booth birdied the par-5 18th hole at the PGA National Golf Club for a two-over 74 and a two-day total of 149, two strokes better than Julie Brand of Alder Creek, N.Y., who shot a one-under 71. Booth was three shots off the pace after Tuesday’s round.
Paul Hinkle of Costa Mesa shot a 78 for a 154 total in the boys’ division. He trails leader Chip Siron of Goldsboro, N.C., by eight shots.
