‘Regis & Kathy’ to Replace ‘A.M. L.A.’

“A.M. Los Angeles,” KABC-TV Channel 7’s long-running talk show, has been canceled and will be replaced in its 9-10 a.m. weekday time slot by the syndicated “Live With Regis & Kathy Lee,” co-hosted by former “A.M. Los Angeles” host Regis Philbin, the station confirmed Friday.
“In these tough economic times, purchasing a syndicated production makes a lot more sense than maintaining a full production system,” program director Vic Heman said.
“A.M. Los Angeles” is scheduled to have its final broadcast Oct. 4. “Live With Regis & Kathy Lee” will move from KCAL Channel 9 to KABC on Oct. 7.
