Luginbill Still Undecided on a Starting Quarterback

Maybe the San Diego State football team will have a starting quarterback by spring practice.
They still don’t have one for their season opener, Sept. 8, against Cal State Long Beach.
Coach Al Luginbill said after Wednesday’s scrimmage that he would name the quarterback the next day, but Thursday afternoon he pushed the decision back again. Cree Morris and David Lowery still are in the running.
“We’re still lacking consistency from day to day at that position,” he said.
Luginbill says he is looking for one candidate to put more than three consecutive good days together.
Luginbill also said Thursday that, for now, all freshmen but three would redshirt: running back Marshall Faulk, defensive back Eric Sutton and receiver Darnay Scott. Faulk and Sutton will play immediately; the coaches will continue to take a look at Scott.
