A Santa Paula man was killed early Saturday morning when a motorcycle struck him as he was walking along Harvard Boulevard in Santa Paula, police said.
Francisco Martinez, 53, was pronounced dead on the scene in the 400 block of Harvard at 2:18 a.m., Santa Paula police said.
He died from head injuries, a deputy coroner said.
Martinez was hit by a motorcycle driven by Santa Paula resident Stephen Skalla, 48, police said.
Skalla told police he was traveling west on Harvard and did not see Martinez, police said.
Skalla was treated and released for minor injuries at Santa Paula Hospital. Police are investigating the accident before deciding whether to seek charges against Skalla.
