SIMI VALLEY : Kadota Fig Residents Asked to Give Views

Residents and property owners of Simi Valley’s Kadota Fig area have been asked to give their views on the future of the mostly rural neighborhood at a public meeting Thursday.
The hearing is scheduled for 7 p.m. at the Senior Citizen Center, 3900 Avenida Simi.
A special ad-hoc committee headed by City Council members Glen McAdoo and Judy Mikels will run the meeting, city officials said. The committee, which also includes nine property owners, will advise the council on whether the neighborhood’s zoning should be changed to allow more development.
Kadota Fig encompasses 448 acres bounded by Tapo Canyon Road on the west, Alamo Street on the north, Stearns Street on the east and Cochran Street on the south. Property owners are allowed to keep horses, pigs and other farm animals on their land.
The public may submit written comments to the city’s Department of Environmental Services.
