Ex-El Toro Standout Honored in Volleyball

Angela Rock, a former three-sport standout at El Toro High School, was voted the top hitter of the Women’s Professional Volleyball Assn. this season.
Rock, a firefighter in San Diego, won 12 of 17 tournaments on the tour this season with partner Karolyn Kirby of San Diego. The tour’s players voted for the awards.
Kirby was named the tour’s MVP for the second consecutive season, and also was being named the top setter. She and Kirby each won $67,815 this season.
