Lynwood : Ordinance to Ban Stores From Sidewalk Displays

The City Council unanimously approved an ordinance Tuesday banning business owners from displaying their goods on sidewalks in front of their stores. The new ordinance will go into effect next month.
The ban against sidewalk displays is citywide in Lynwood. However, it was prompted by conditions along Atlantic Avenue and Long Beach Boulevard where there is a concentration of stores that display stoves, furniture and garden tools on the sidewalks, said Kenrick R. Karefa-Johnson, director of community development.
