COLLEGE ROUNDUP : Haro’s Five Goals Help Titans Score Men’s Soccer Victory

Raul Haro scored five goals--three in overtime--and Cal State Fullerton defeated San Jose State, 7-3, in a Big West Conference men’s soccer game Sunday in San Jose.
Haro, a senior forward, tied the score, 2-2, on his second goal with 3 1/2 minutes remaining in regulation. He gave the Titans (4-4, 2-0 in conference) a 3-2 lead about a minute into overtime, but San Jose State’s Greg Schwager evened the score three minutes later.
After Dino Torres put Fullerton ahead, Haro scored his final two goals over a four-minute span, and Andrew Martz finished the Titans’ scoring with about a minute to play.
In nonconference women’s soccer:
UC Santa Barbara 5, UC Irvine 0--The visiting Gauchos (6-1) scored five goals in an 11-minute span midway through the second half. Tricia Kimble and Laurie Hill each scored twice and Julie Bushman once for Santa Barbara. Irvine (3-3-1) was outshot, 21-3.
