WILMINGTON, Del. — Du Pont Co. and a Japanese concern have established a 50-50 joint venture company to develop, manufacture and sell polyester film for audio and videotape, officials said.
Du Pont has joined Teijen Ltd. to create Teijin-Du Pont Films, which will make its own brand of polyester film.
Financial terms of the agreement were not disclosed.
The joint venture will allow Du Pont and Teijin to share knowledge about the development and manufacture of the film, said Michael Hartnagel, vice president and general manager of Du Pont’s Polyester Film Enterprise.
Teijin-Du Pont’s domestic headquarters will be in Atlanta, and its European headquarters will be in Luxembourg, said Kelli Kukura, a Du Pont spokeswoman.
