Claremont police have arrested a 17-year-old Fontana youth on suspicion of attempted murder in the stabbing of two college students outside a Harvey Mudd College dormitory over the weekend.
Police Lt. Gary Jenkins said that Brian Forster, 20, and Joshua Krist, 19, were engaged in a friendly wrestling match outside the dorm, where a party was under way early Sunday. Someone mistakenly thought a friend was being attacked, Jenkins said, and several people began fighting. Forster and Christopher Mann, 19, were stabbed, and Krist suffered facial bruises. Both are Pomona College students.
Jenkins said the suspect, who had no connection to any of the Claremont Colleges, had come to the area with friends looking for a party. Police arrested the youth Sunday night in Fontana and confiscated a push-button stiletto. Forster was in fair condition and Mann was in good condition Monday at Pomona Valley Hospital Medical Center.
