London — American Airlines said it will start daily nonstop flights between Chicago and London’s Stansted airport on June 16, 1992.
“We are delighted to announce this new daily service, which will make American Airlines the only transatlantic airline to serve all three London airports,” said Hans Mirka of American Airlines.
London’s two other airports are at Heathrow and Gatwick.
So far, Air France is the only other major airline to offer scheduled flights from Stansted. It offers daily flights to Paris and Bordeaux.
