MOORPARK : Man Killed When Truck Crushes Him

A 27-year-old Moorpark man who was crushed to death by a truck early Monday apparently forgot to use his parking brake while loading furniture, a Sheriff’s Department official said.
Anthony Morales worked for Wambold Furniture in Moorpark, Sheriff’s Lt. Bill Montijo said. Witnesses said Morales was pinned by the truck after it rolled onto his foot and prevented him from jumping out of the way, Montijo said. The 6:30 a.m. accident occurred at a furniture warehouse in the 5100 block of Commerce Avenue. Deputy Coroner Craig Stevens said an autopsy revealed that Morales died of head injuries.
