MISSION VIEJO : City Will Consider County Roadwork
- Share via
The Planning Commission will be asked Monday to allow the county to make street improvements within the city limits.
The county wants to install a bridge at Glenn Ranch and El Toro roads over Aliso Creek. The work would include improvements to El Toro Road just inside the city’s northern border.
As a part of the project, El Toro Road would be widened to three lanes in both directions near the bridge. The project will also affect Old Toro Road, a former major arterial that is now a heavily used bicycle trail, city officials said.
The bridge is being built as part of the Foothill Circulation Phasing Plan. The project is a cooperative effort between the county and several area developers to improve traffic conditions in South County near the proposed Foothill tollway.
