Higher Education Costs Questioned
I was doubly appalled by the Oct. 21 report titled “Illegal Immigrants Facing a Sharp Rise in College Fees.”
First, what are we, the taxpayers, doing paying for college educations for illegal immigrants? These people are breaking the law; they should be deported, not subsidized and encouraged to stay!
Secondly, why are our community college counselors encouraging these illegal people to “sign up for anything even if the class does not suit them”? My daughter is a student at a community college and she had a very difficult time getting the classes she needed because of overcrowding. She is a third-generation Californian.
It is time that we, the taxpayers, sit up and demand that our elected representatives in government be more frugal in spending our hard-earned tax dollars.
