Murray, Danskin Spark Pacifica Over Los Amigos

GARDEN GROVE — Pacifica High School quarterback Dan Murray passed for 243 yards and two touchdowns to lead the Mariners to a 13-0 victory over Los Amigos Friday night at Bolsa Grande High.
“It was one of his best games, if not the best,” said Pacifica wide receiver Brian Danskin.
Danskin should know. He was on the receiving end of six of Murray’s 12 completions, including ones for 51 and 55 yards. Danskin caught touchdown passes of 21 and 55 yards and finished with 148 receiving yards.
Pacifica (6-2, 4-1 in league) scored its first touchdown with 19 seconds remaining in the first quarter on a 22-yard pass from Murray to fullback Mike Way.
Pacifica’s defense appeared to be ready for next week’s showdown with undefeated Garden Grove, allowing Los Amigos only 154 yards in total offense. Pacifica sacked Los Amigos quarterback Joey Portillo four times for a loss of 25 yards.
Los Amigos (1-7, 1-4) came close to scoring in the fourth quarter, driving to Pacifica’s four-yard line before stalling. A fourth-down pass play by Portillo fell incomplete.
