A 31-year-old transient was found dead Sunday on the embankment at the 24th Street Channel in Chula Vista, the apparent victim of an accidental drowning, police said.
Chula Vista Police Lt. Sherwood George said that the man’s body was found just before 3 p.m. The man, whose identity was being withheld pending notification of relatives, was fully clothed and showed no sign of trauma, George said.
Investigators suspect that a high tide washed the man’s body onto the embankment.
