SANTA ANA : Cyclist Strikes Car, Is Critically Injured

A Santa Ana motorcyclist was in critical condition Tuesday after he struck a car that was turning left at Santa Clara Avenue and Raitt Street, police said.
Casey Allen Shanahan, 32, was taken to Western Medical Center-Santa Ana after the Monday night crash. He is in intensive care and on life-support machines, a police spokesman said.
Shanahan’s 8-year-old son, who was riding on the back of the motorcycle and wearing a helmet, was uninjured, police said. Shanahan, who wore no helmet, suffered massive head injuries.
