Lunker Stripers Flocking to Lures at Silverwood Lake

Custom-made lures are the rage among Southland striped bass fishermen and it’s no wonder, considering the fish they enticed this past week at San Bernardino County’s Silverwood Lake.
Gordon Griffith of Lancaster had the best stringer--stripers of 35, 29 1/2 and 21 1/2 pounds. Greg Silks of Alta Loma used his homemade plug at the spillway to catch 30-, 28- and 18-pound stripers, and Allan Cole of Lancaster used his concoction near the launch ramp to hook a 29-pounder.
