FOR GOD OR COUNTRY: County supervisors had an unpleasant choice to make Tuesday. The Saddleback Community Church wants a day-care center at its new church near the El Toro Marine Corps Air Station. But the Marines reluctantly opposed the plan, saying they worried about jet noise and its impact on the children. “It may appear that the Marine Corps may be against God,” a corps spokesman told the board. “We assure you, we’re not.” . . . The supervisors took note, but approved the center anyway.
