USC’s wide receivers don’t have impressive statistics as a group, but they have respect among opposing coaches.
“They have one of the better receiving corps in the nation,” Washington Coach Don James said. “They have got great wide receiver speed. Their guys can flat-out fly and catch theball.”
Johnnie Morton leads the Trojans with 46 catches for 594 yards, fifth in the Pacific 10 Conference. He has caught a pass in 14 consecutive games and has16 catches for 218 yards in his last two games.
Travis Hannah and Curtis Conway combined for four catches and 123 yards against Washington. In all, USC outgained the victorious Huskies in passing yardage, 227-119.
Quarterback Reggie Perry has a shoulder bruise but is expected to play Saturday against Arizona at Tucson.
