Immigration Control
Two recent Times articles have caught my attention. First, “Crowded Now? Wait 25 Years” (Oct. 19), which projected a 58% population increase in San Diego’s already overpopulated area. The second told of a decision for yet another amnesty for Central Americans illegally in this country (“Plan Offers Guatemalans Asylum,” Oct. 21).
The two are linked. Immigration, both legal and illegal, is the one controllable element of population increase. We as a sovereign nation have the right to control our borders and stop the flow of illegal immigration and drugs across our border with Mexico.
Our nation must control all immigration. If we do not, the population pressures will continue to rise on our fragile environment. Our quality of life will continue to deteriorate.
