An off-duty Los Angeles police officer was wounded in a gunfight Monday night with three suspects who tried to rob him at a service station in Carson, authorities said.
One of the officer’s alleged assailants was also wounded in the exchange of gunfire at 10:20 p.m. in the 1800 block of Del Amo Boulevard, said Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Sgt. Robert Costa.
The officer, whose identity was not released, was taken to Harbor-UCLA Medical Center where he was listed in stable condition with gunshot wounds to his groin and chest, Costa said. The wounded suspect also was hospitalized, but his condition was not available, Costa said. The other suspects were in custody.
