In response to a study showing that the city has been spending $748,871 a year to subsidize many services, the City Council on Tuesday approved an increase in business license fees and parking permits and will consider other fee increases next year.
Francine Maldonado, financial services director, said the business license fee will increase Jan. 1 from $50 plus $5 per employee to $70 plus $7.50 per employee. Also, she said, the price of parking permits will rise from $20 to $30 beginning Jan. 1, 1993.
The council decided against charging community groups to use the Recreation Room at Live Oak Park or for use of the Community Room at City Hall.
