“The Addams Family” Grooves: Paramount predicts big-time box-office numbers for the opening of “The Addams Family.” The studio reported Sunday morning that an estimated $17.5 million in tickets were sold Friday and Saturday on a wide release of 2,411 screens. Paramount said that if Sunday’s matinee business kept the pace, the movie would be on its way to rivaling the opening weekend gross of “Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles,” which opened on March 30, 1990.
