Glendale : Conservation Plan Lauded
A Glendale resident has been singled out for significant contributions toward water conservation in California.
Ed Thornhill, 46, a manager of the Metropolitan Water District of Southern California, has been commended for his efforts in developing a 10-year plan to reduce water consumption by at least 500,000 acre-feet annually--enough to supply almost 3 million people a year.
A resolution honoring Thornhill was adopted this month by directors of the Assn. of California Water Agencies, which represents 400 public water agencies responsible for 90% of all water delivered in California.
