On the road. San Diego Opera associate conductor Karen Keltner conducted a production of Benjamin Britten’s “The Rape of Lucretia” last week at the USC Opera Theatre in Los Angeles. Last month, Keltner conducted two performances of Rossini’s “The Barber of Seville” in Charlotte, North Carolina, for Opera Carolina. In the upcoming San Diego Opera season, Keltner is slated to conduct Lehar’s “The Merry Widow.” Local soprano Virginia Sublett will appear as soloist in the San Francisco Symphony’s “Messiah” on Dec. 18.
