Paint Splashed on Church in Abortion Rights Protest

A Wilmington church was found splattered with red paint early Friday, apparently in protest of an anti-abortion rally scheduled there for later that night, police said.
The pastor of Harbor Christian Church at 1551 Wilmington Blvd. stopped by the church around 4 a.m. Friday to check on a caretaker and found the building splattered with “very old” red paint and pamphlets favoring abortion rights stuck to the door, said Sgt. Howard Silverstein of the Los Angeles Police Department’s Harbor Division.
Red paint was also splashed on other parts of the building, said Silverstein. “He (the pastor) thinks that the people that oppose the rally might have done this,” said Silverstein. The church was scheduled to host an Operation Rescue anti-abortion rally Friday night.
