Nation IN BRIEF : WASHINGTON, D.C. : Bush Economic Plan Expected in January

President Bush will have an economic program ready to propose to key members of Congress by early January, Budget Director Richard G. Darman said on NBC-TV’s “Meet the Press.” “We are looking . . . at middle income tax cuts, but no decision has yet been made on that,” Darman said. The Administration has said Bush will use his State of the Union address, in late January, to outline his program to stimulate the economy. Democrats and some Republicans have suggested he act sooner.
