Utah State officials declined to confirm a newspaper report that Arkansas offensive coordinator Charlie Weatherbie would be the school’s new head football coach.
The Deseret News reported that Weatherbie, 36, a former NFL and CFL quarterback and assistant coach at both Wyoming and Air Force, received the news in a telephone call from Rod Tueller, Utah State’s athletic director.
