Gorilla Is Shipped to California for Breeding

CINCINNATI — The Cincinnati Zoo on Tuesday shipped 10-year-old Ndume, a 250-pound gorilla that is native to central and western Africa, to California in hopes that he can father other Western lowland gorillas. He is to be paired with Koko, a 20-year-old female at the Gorilla Foundation in Woodside, Calif., for breeding.
