Release of Hostages

Cockburn, unrepentant leftist to the end, has managed, in the manner of the left’s true believers, to blame the U.S. for the hostage-taking that began with the Iranian attack on the U.S. Embassy in Tehran in 1979. Only in the twisted mind of the left can outrageous garbage like this be considered rational thought.
The current wisdom says that our military is scrambling for an enemy, any enemy, to justify its existence since the breakup of the Soviet Union. Those of Cockburn’s ilk will never have that problem, for the perennial enemy, the Great Satan, the U.S., will always be there for them. They must all have a nice, warm fuzzy feeling of job security--bash the U.S., get a column in The Times!
