More Orders for Boeing: Boeing Co.’s 777 program got a boost as Emirates Airline, the national airline of Dubai of the United Arab Emirates, signed a $2-billion letter of intent to buy 14 of the new wide-body jets. The deal includes seven firm orders for jets to be delivered between 1996 and 1997 and seven options to follow from 1998 to 2000. Boeing also announced that Malaysia Airlines ordered a new 747-400 jetliner and converted options on nine other jets to firm orders. That deal was valued at $480 million.
