Glendale : A Boost for Culinary Arts
The Glendale Community College culinary arts program received a $15,000 grant Monday from the Southern California Restaurant Writers Assn.
The cash award--the only one given by the association to a school in northern Los Angeles County--recognized the culinary arts department’s service to the community and restaurants of the area.
The money will be used for scholarships, supplies and equipment, including a computer and printer, convection oven, slicer, fryer, mixer tabletop, and tables and chairs, said Yeimei Wang, food and nutrition professor and coordinator of special events.
