COSTA MESA : City Will Recycle Christmas Trees
- Share via
For the second year, the city and the Costa Mesa Sanitary District will recycle Christmas trees into mulch for city parks.
Last year, 8,123 trees were collected, chipped and spread in the park sites. A free bag of mulch will be given to anyone who brings a tree to TeWinkle Yard, 890 Arlington Drive. The remainder of the mulch will be spread in parks.
The sanitary district will also pick up trees left on curbs on regular trash pickup days. The program runs from Friday to Jan. 11.
Trees should be stripped of decorations. Flocked trees cannot be recycled.
For more information, call the recycling hot line at (714) 754-5600.
