California IN BRIEF : DUNSMUIR : Harassment Inquiry Targets Police Chief

The city’s chief of police was placed on administrative leave pending an investigation into sexual harassment allegations against him. City Manager Jim Arata relieved Dennis Solanti of his duties after the allegations were made by a Police Department employee. Arata declined to release the name of the employee or any details about the complaint. He said that the Siskiyou County Sheriff’s Department had taken over supervision of the agency and that the state Department of Justice will conduct an investigation into the complaint.
